Half-Blind, Not Quite Deaf
At arm's length, extended fully, I see it there
Irony, I say, as what I gaze upon with my one good eye
Is the other that I just stabbed out
Tired of looking upon the world that so harshly torments me
I limit my vision, as the people around me have limited theirs
Hoping to connect with those whom I don't understand
I realize that it has nothing to do with their eyes
And everything to do with their minds
I suppose I understand them now
More fully do I see the differences between us
And all it cost me was an eye ...
I am so glad I had two of them to begin
Irony, I say, as what I gaze upon with my one good eye
Is the other that I just stabbed out
Tired of looking upon the world that so harshly torments me
I limit my vision, as the people around me have limited theirs
Hoping to connect with those whom I don't understand
I realize that it has nothing to do with their eyes
And everything to do with their minds
I suppose I understand them now
More fully do I see the differences between us
And all it cost me was an eye ...
I am so glad I had two of them to begin

What happened?
This one is kind of sad...
Just feeling like I don't understand people. Ever. At all.
